Alas, can all our hand washing and sanitizing harm our jewelry? Overall the answer is no, so keep sanitizing! But, there are some important exceptions. The main take aways when it comes to hand sanitizers and jewelry are:

1. Stick with alcohol based sanitizers.  Non-alcohol based sanitizers can tarnish or harm your jewelry.

2. Sanitizers can leave a film, but nothing a good cleaning can't take care of.
